The Feeding Program in Sitio Cavite started in February 2002 where many children were undernourished and 3 Children (brother & sisters) died one after the other due to malnutrition. The Sisters started to gather 30 undernourished children from the place ages 1-7, and were given full lunch every Saturday at the kiosk. Medical consultation with free medicines were held from time to time. Later on, many others volunteered to sponsor the food and gift items for children. In 2004, when the number of children reached 70, many of them were diagnosed to have Koch's Infection. Due to the expensive and tedious medication, the six-month treatment only began in 2006 with 6 children. But God is very generous and sent benefactors who sponsored some more.
To date, there are 25 children in the PTB program. The weekly feeding to 70 children became a daily feeding to the children under anti-Koch’s treatment. Children are given medical assistance through our OMD Polyclinic and volunteer doctors. Our Dream is to accommodate more children for Anti-Koch’s treatment, supplement the medication with nutritious food, and continue educating the mothers with primary health care. We thank God for the lessons in life, for we continue to learn from the children of the feeding program and their parents as well.
