For this 2009, the Camillian Sisters continue to spearhead the Pondo ng Pinoy Community Foundation, Inc. project for the thirty (30) out-of-school youth-(OSY) coming from the parochial communities of San Isidro Labrador. These youth have been recruited through the recommendation of GKK Presidents. Out of the 30, there were three selected for the educational sponsorship program, the deserving youth and willing to acquire college education. There were seven (7) who remained active after the ten (10) straight schedules of formation activities and exploration to different places where herbal plants grow were implemented.

This time, the active youth able to process granules of moringa   (malunggay leaves), avocado and turmeric (luy-ang dilaw). The Project Coordinator (Sr. Veronica S. The educational sponsorship program of the Camillian Sisters becomes one of its major deliverables.  Last April 3, 2009 a set of underprivileged girls finished their college studies through the Camillian Sisters. Wenna Mae, Beverly and Dinna graduated from their four-year course and are now working. The Now eight (8) college students, six (6) high school students and three elementary pupils are enrolled. They are fortunate and blessed that they were taught to become responsible and able to manage their time considering that they have also assigned areas while simultaneously required to pass all their subjects in school. The fruit according to one of these graduates is sweet. They even called themselves, --- achievers!

Furthermore, not just the youth, the aged and the sick are being served but now they include the 3 to 12 years old underweight children in their mission to help. The Hapag-Asa feeding program of the Diocese of Digos, the Pondo ng Pinoy Community Foundation, Inc. and the Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation in coordination with the Camillian Sisters is now currently implementing the program for the poor and the less privilege children. This is a one-meal provision for six days (Monday to Saturday at 5:00pm, an early supper) and this is for six (6) months period. Sr. Elvira O. Dojinog is now the Sister in-charge of the program. She has monitoring activities and recording to determine the normal weights vs. the child’s age and the normal height of a child. She kept tracking also the illness through medical check-up to take care  of  those who have primary complex infection and enrolled them to the St. Benedict Clinic for free  PTB medicines and other supplements. To date, there are thirty (30) underweight children who are officially enrolled. Sr. Elvie also facilitates mothers’/caregivers’ classes to educate the mothers, the guardians and the direct caregiver of the children in preparing proper and nutritional menu for these children to reach normal weights and will grow healthy. The mothers make routinary schedules on cooking the food and in preparing and cleaning the kitchen utensils.  Prior to implementation, Sr. Elvie and a youth volunteer made sure that the children had undergone weighing, medical check – up and deworming.

The Camillian Sisters’ mission now is becoming holistic in nature. They are not just to the sick and elderly needs but to the growing up children who were deprived of their rights to proper development, and become productive, valuing life, attaining desirable level of education. The guidance and love that the Camillian Sisters transpired to the needy became their inspiration to the individuals in the society.
